Minecraft is Mojang's highly popular sandbox survival RPG with a massive world and lots of content. It's a game that lets players do basically anything they want with whatever they find in the vast world.

The survival game has long been one of the best games that players enjoy since it was launched in 2011. It has received a ton of content updates since it was launched, which makes coming into the game now a bit daunting for new players.

Fortunately, this beginner's tips and tricks guide helps you know what you need to focus on in the early stages of Minecraft. Keeping these things in mind will make your gaming experience go much more smoothly.

Punch Trees

Starting out in Minecraft means that players will not have access to tools immediately. You also do not get a shelter to keep yourself safe from the environment. The most important thing you need to do at this level is get tools, according to TheGamer.

You can do this by walking up to the nearest tree you can find and punch it until you get some wood drops. This resource is the most basic one that you will use throughout your journey in Minecraft. You can turn logs into planks that can then be used to craft a variety of items using a Crafting Bench.

Upgrade to Stone Tools

You can craft wooden tools after you get your first few sets of logs from trees. However, it is best to quickly upgrade them into stone tools that are more useful and more durable. There is a crafting guide you can look at to see what you can craft so you don't have to experiment.

What you need is stone that can be gathered across the environment and will let you craft stronger versions of what you may already have. These include an axe, shovel, hoe, and even a sword.

Build a Base

The next thing you should do is to start preparing your own base and you should look around for the best spot to build it. A recommended area is somewhere near trees and water because these provide two crucial resources that you will need, said CBR.

While water is not used in quite as many recipes as wood, a body of water has its own set of resources that you can gather. One example is fish which gives players a steady supply of food if they are patient enough.

You can also use a metal bucket to gather water that you can then use to traverse across Minecraft's world. You can even use it to protect yourself from fall damage or cover up lava sources to prevent fire damage.

Learn About the Hunger Meter

In Minecraft, there is a hunger meter that shows players how much energy they have left. This is found on the bottom right of the screen and is represented by chunks of meat. One thing you should know about this is that losing two hunger will prevent you from regenerating your health.

If it keeps going down, such as when three hunger is drained, you will lose the ability to sprint, putting you in danger if there are any threats nearby. You should work on replenishing your hunger meter in order to get these abilities back.

You can eat food that you gather from various sources in order to replenish your hunger meter. In the early stages of the game, your main source will be various animals such as cows, pigs, and chickens, according to IGN.

Later on, you will be able to start farming for things like wheat, mushrooms, or even melon. This allows you to have a consistent supply of food even for emergencies.
