Black Myth: Wukong is a highly successful soulslike adventure role-playing game by developer Game Science that features a lot of deadly bosses.

The game bears a strong resemblance with FromSoftware's Elden Ring with how difficult some of the fights can be for players. One such fight is Black Bear Guai which is the alternate form of the Black Wind: King boss.

This boss' sheer size and power can be daunting for some players who are fighting him for the first time. This guide will help you understand how to beat this overwhelmingly powerful boss.

Preparing for the Fight

Before you head into the battle, you should plan and prepare to make sure that you have everything you need to take the boss down. Some recommendations are increasing your Mysticism points, investing in combat stance skills, and buying potions, such as Body-Cooling-Powder, according to TheGamer.

Mysticism is important because it will help you shut down Black Bear Guai's wind attacks during the fight's second phase. Combat stance skills will increase your damage output to finish the battle faster. The last will keep your equipment from catching on fire which does damage over time.

Black Bear Guai's Attacks

This boss fight is technically the second phase of the Black Wind: King battle but Black Bear Guai has his own mini-second phase. Entering this will let him gain new attacks and flashy fire effects.

He has a different moveset from Black Wind: King so you should treat this as a separate fight altogether. The only similarity they have is with one particular attack, the Black Wind, where the boss disappears and charges at a player three times before charging a fourth time but with fire effects.

The first phase of the fight gives you a lot of opportunities to deal damage to the boss fight, especially in the beginning. Black Bear Guai uses various melee attacks that are fast so you should always be ready to dodge, said OneEsports.

It is recommended to avoid using heavy attacks because they are too slow and leave you vulnerable to the boss' attacks. If you deal enough damage, you will enter Black Bear Guai's second phase.

This phase adds several new attacks to the boss' arsenal that players should be wary of. These include being able to transform into a fire orb and charging towards your character. You should use the Immobilize skill when he uses his cloud form.

The boss' paws get covered in fire in the second phase which will deal fire damage if he hits you. He also has the ability to set the ground on fire to keep you on your toes. If you do catch fire, roll around five times to put out the flames.

Rewards for Beating the Boss

Successfully beating the Black Bear Guai boss rewards players with their first Relic (Craving Eyes) that grants one of three buffs. These are Opportune Watcher, Eagle Eye, and Keen Insight, according to Eurogamer.

The first will increase the Focus that you gain from consecutive light attacks. The second will significantly reduce the cooldown for Cloud Step when you successfully land a critical hit while in that form. The last will massively boost your critical hit damage.

You will also get 1,641 experience points, 990 Will, one Flame Ebongold, five Yarn, two Silk, one Stone Spirit, one Yaoguai Core, and one Mine Core.
