Minecraft fans got their first look at the upcoming Minecraft movie with a trailer that shows off various characters in a mysterious world filled with creativity.
The movie features Jason Momoa and Jack Black in lead roles as the first footage of the movie left a lot of fans confused and wondering about the direction that film adaptations are going in recent times. Black, who previously played Bowser in the Super Mario movie, is now Steve, a player character in the series.
Minecraft Movie Trailer
Despite the popularity of the video game series, it seems that many people are not too keen on what they actually saw in the upcoming movie's first trailer. Some of the comments on social media show just how disappointed people are with the new footage, according to PCGamer.
Another user questioned why Momoa looked like he was doing a very bad cosplay of Dora the Explorer. Other people also said that their excitement for the live-action adaptation quickly vanished after they watched the trailer.

One person also compared the Minecraft movie's effects on the community to what the Borderlands live-action adaptation did in disappointing them. A separate user wondered if they could also bully the studio like what happened with the first Sonic movie.
The upcoming movie based on the popular Minecraft series is directed by Jared Hess and aims to take advantage of the franchise's massive fanbase. The game is officially the best-selling title of all time and has reportedly sold more than 300 million copies, said IGN.
The Film's Story
On top of Black and Momoa, the film also features Emma Myers, Danielle Brooks, Sebastian Eugene Hansen, and Jennifer Coolidge. The movie's story focuses on four "misfits," Momoa's Garrett "The Garbage Man" Garrison, Hansen's Henry, Myers' Natalie, and Brooks' Dawn.
The group ends up inside the world of Minecraft and they are suddenly tasked with protecting it from Piglins and Zombies on their journey to get back to their homeworld. In this mysterious world, creativity doesn't just help you craft, you also need it in order to survive.
The four misfits, who struggle with their own personal problems, will have to master the intricacies of the Minecraft world alongside Black's Steve. Their adventure challenges them to be bold and to reconnect with the qualities that made them all uniquely creative.
Warner Bros. also unveiled the first official poster for the upcoming live-action adaptation which features the face of a Creeper. In Minecraft, Creepers have long been the most iconic creatures and it was no surprise that they were chosen to market the new movie, according to ComicBook.
