The creator of beloved farming life sim Stardew Valley, Eric Barone, also known as ConcernedApe, says that he has not touched Haunted Chocolatier in a "long time."

ConcernedApe said that the reason for this is that he has been focused on bringing the console and mobile ports of Stardew Valley's 1.6 update to players as soon as possible. He shared the news in a recent post on social media.

The Stardew Valley developer assured his followers on X, formerly known as Twitter, that the ports for the game's latest update are still being worked on. He said that these updates have been their primary focus since 1.6 came out on PC.

Barone also expressed his gratitude to Stardew Valley fans who were still patient while waiting for the console and mobile ports of the latest update. He also said that he understood players who were "frustrated or even angry" about the wait, according to Eurogamer.

The developer then uploaded another post, revealing why he chose to release the PC version ahead of the others. CocnernedApe said that on PC, even if there are bugs, they can be fixed relatively quickly and patches can be put out within hours of discovering the bug.

He continued to say that on consoles, patches were not that quick to sort out, adding that it was ideal to have all major issues resolved before submitting to consoles. Barone wrote that otherwise, players might have game-breaking or even save-corrupting bugs in the game for a week.

ConcernedApe said that it would be a huge relief for him if the console and mobile ports of the 1.6 update were out today. He said that he accepts full responsibility if people are not happy with the timeline, said IGN.

The developer also noted that he was not expecting the console and mobile ports of Stardew Valley's 1.6 update to take so long. However, he argued that there have been technical issues with the porting process.

Stardew Valley's 1.6 update added a lot of new content to the popular farming life sim, including a new farm type, new events, a massive multiplayer option, and many more. The patch also added new menus, DIYs, and crops, as well as added the ability to have multiple pets.

One of the biggest changes in the 1.6 update is the new farm layout, which is the Meadowlands Farm. This is a grass- and animal-focused design that will surely be useful to those who like to play like they have their own ranch, according to Wired.
