JRPG fans rejoiced after they were given a glimpse into Legend of Heroes: Trails in the Sky the 1st, a remake of the first game in the highly popular franchise.
The teaser trailer showed fans a little bit of the title's gameplay and it is a dramatic change from the classic top-down view as it now sports full 3D visuals. The Legend of Heroes: Trails in the Sky the 1st is scheduled to launch worldwide in 2025 for the Nintendo Switch.

The fact that it has a global launch immediately is a bit of a shock to fans of the series as the franchise has had a bit of a complicated history in getting to the West. The Trails in the Sky trilogy and the first Cold Steel games were published by XSEED while NIS America handled all the releases afterwards.
The first game in the series follows the story of Estelle Bright and her adoptive brother Joshua as they journey across the Kingdom of Liberl in their quest to become senior Bracers. In the franchise's lore, Bracers are a form of peacekeepers who complete requests and help people, according to NintendoLife.

The original game launched in 2004 for PC in Japan but it did not get an English version until 2009, which is when the game transitioned and became available on the PlayStation Portable. The upcoming remake was teased by Falcom president Toshihiro Kondo a few times in the past few years.
But the trailer shown in Nintendo Direct Partner Showcase is the first time that fans of the franchise actually got to see any footage of it.
The video showed off impressive visuals and seems to be taking inspiration from a combat system that is similar to the latest game in the franchise, The Legend of Heroes: Trails Through Daybreak.
A Treat for Fans of the Franchise
One of the franchise's fans wrote on X, formerly known as Twitter, "What is happening??? Trails in the Sky remake hidden in a montage???" Another user wrote, "They are remaking one of the greatest games of all time and it only got a brief spot in a sizzle reel," said IGN.
Suffice to say that many fans were surprised and filled with excitement with the teaser trailer for The Legend of Heroes: Trails in the Sky the 1st. There was a longer reveal of the upcoming remake during the Japanese Nintendo Direct stream that featured a closer look at the title's gameplay.
The original game has never made it onto a Nintendo system and the announcement described it as a turn-based RPG saga that sets players on a journey to find a missing father and exterminate dangerous beasts, according to NintendoEverything.
