A leak for Bethesda Game Studios' Starfield showcases the upcoming land vehicles in the game and gives players a glimpse into how they would actually work.

The new content is coming as there has been a severe lack of land vehicles in the expansive sci-fi adventure game that left fans somewhat confused. The confirmation of this was made in June last year by director Todd Howard.

Starfield's New Land Vehicles

Modders had previously tweaked the jetpack in Starfield in an effort to offset the lack of land vehicles in the game. However, they were not able to recreate what the developers themselves could create.

In July this year, there were rumors about the new feature that could be coming to Starfield in the form of land vehicles. The buggies were said to come in two different variants and will only be able to carry two passengers with an optional third-passenger slot for Vasco, according to WCCFTech.

There are also NPCs from rescue missions that will be able to ride the new land vehicles. Additionally, both buggies will have weapons equipped and are a laser mode with slowdown and a launcher. Another thing to note is that they will scale based on the player's certified skills.

Also, the new land vehicles coming to Starfield will be relatively easy to obtain and transport for players. They will reportedly spawn near the ship when purchased from the ship's technicians.

But the customization options right now seem to be limited to colors and if you want a new part, it will essentially be considered a new vehicle.

A New Way To Travel

The leak is a video that shows a dune buggy being driven across a planet within the Starfield universe. The rumors that accompanied that footage claimed that the new content would be coming with the "Shattered Space" update that is expected to arrive this fall, said WindowsCentral.

Furthermore, there was a new trailer for the upcoming update that revealed an official release date, Aug. 20, 2024. It was shown to the public during Gamescom Opening Night Live.

While Starfield may have originally started out with a troubled launch, landing at mixed reactions from both critics and gamers, it has since bounced back due to continuous support from the developer.

They have helped the single-player space adventure find its footing post-launch but despite frequent updates, many players became desperate for a quicker way to explore the planets. This is what gap the new land vehicles are meant to fill, according to DualShockers.
