Community Reactions to Heisman Difficulty
Knowing that not all gamers will be the same, EA Sports has included four difficulty settings within College Football 25: Freshman, Varsity, All-American, and Heisman. The first two are aimed towards beginners, while the latter two are for the seasoned player. Whereas many might have thought that the highest level of difficulty would be a little rough, it turned out to be even more so than expected.
It's not just popular content creator Bordeaux, however, who has reported the Heisman mode as being very hard. He took to social media to express his anger that the difficulty setting seemed a little bit harder than what was expected. Other users within X shared similar sentiments, with one user joking that it had to have been the Heisman difficulty created by the Devil. One user compared it to the infamously challenging Dark Souls series, labeling it "Dark Souls in the form of College Football 25."
Challenge Enhanced with Adaptive AI
Finally, another big part of the Heisman difficulty comes in the form of the Adaptive AI game feature. On Heisman, the AI behaves intelligently and does not do so on other lower difficulty settings: it adapts to repeated plays and dynamically responds to the player in an effort to make things even more difficult to win. This aspect has brought a whole new level of challenge into the game, frustrating yet making it fun for players like Bordeaux.
Even with the trouble it's giving, some players do actually love the way gameplay has become dynamic. They feel that, hard as it is, the Heisman difficulty is very challenging for deep gaming. Now, this leaves the community holding its breath for the new patches from the developers, curious to know whether Heisman will tone down or remain the acid test for players.
