A new mod for The Witcher 3 has been released on PC by modder 'Freak', returning the original reputation system that was cut by the game's developer, CD Projekt Red, back in 2015.

Restoring a Removed Feature
When first released, CD Projekt Red had already removed the reputation concept from The Witcher 3. This new mod brings back the feature. As it is, this mod changes reputation points in different regions according to what the player does or chooses to do.
Reputation levels from the mod include hated, disliked, neutral, liked, and respected, where each of them replaces Geralt's standing in that region. The modder expounds that the five levels will affect the economy of the region. Activities like bedding and bargaining are also impacted.
Impact on Gameplay
This mod influences in-game prices due to reputation. As a result, the player who is hated pays more and sells cheaper than one who enjoys an honorable reputation, which means more preferential prices for them. This could be quests and Geralt's actions that complete monster hunts or horse races, winning to raise his reputation. Actions such as theft would also bear an imprint on reputation, hence calling for the player to be aware of their choices.
Below are the exact reputation levels and what effects they have on the game.
- Hated: +30% buying price, -70% selling price, -20% bargain multiplier, -50% bet multiplier
- Disliked: +15% buying price, -15% selling price, -10% bargain multiplier, -25% bet multiplier
- Neutral: Same as vanilla
- Liked: -15% buying price, +15% selling price, +10% bargain multiplier, +50% bet multiplier
- Respected: The buying price is -30%, the selling price is +30%, the bargain multiplier is +20%, and the bet multiplier is +100%.
The mod is now available for download for the PC version of the game, including the next-gen version; the mod installation instructions are included.
CD Projekt Red is working on Witcher projects ranging from a full remake of the first game to even a full sequel to The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt. Nothing has been confirmed over Geralt's return in The Witcher 4, although a few hints were given.
The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, along with its downloadable content, finally dropped for PC and console owners alike in their respective regions across the globe.
