Wayfinder Update: Major Patch Coming With Quality-of-Life Changes

Wayfinder is getting a major update soon that will introduce a lot of quality-of-life changes, including server browser, combat improvements, and more.

The game got its last major patch in the Echoes re-launch but the new update changes come ahead of the online action RPG's 1.0 version release later this year. The quality-of-life patch seems to be focused on improvements and polish and could come sometime this month.

The developer, Airship Syndicate, is setting expectations by noting that there will not be any new playable content in the new update. However, the patch is big primarily because there are a ton of improvements that will be made to the game.

These include some stuff that the team has been working to add to Wayfinder based on player feedback since its relaunch. One of the highly requested features that will be included in the new patch is a server browser.

This would let players search for a server using various criteria or filters and is a perfect answer for the issue of finding other people to play with. Wayfinder is a buy-once game that features an online co-op option for players, according to MMORPG.

However, the game did not include an easy way for people to just jump into an organized game and it was difficult to even go get a random match. Other changes in the upcoming update include a series of combat and movement improvements.

These include a more stable and responsive experience when players are in the air and should help you have a more fruitful time with jumping puzzles and other challenges.

The patch will also introduce smart targeting of enemies, an improved camera when you lock on a target and many more tweaks that provide a smoother gaming experience.

The developer is also bringing some loot and progression changes in the latest update and one of the most helpful of which is letting players see what resources will be available on any expedition. This means that you can decide beforehand if they are worth finishing for you.

A Ton of Quality-of-Life Improvements

On top of these, the update also brings Discord invites, more customizable options, environmental fixes, and a lot more.

After the latest patch, the developer said that players should look forward to a "large content update including a new Wayfinder and new zones at the 1.0 release later this year," said MassivelyOP.

Some things that players can also expect to see in the latest update are the introduction of additional hotkeys, the ability to adjust camera distance on the controller, and an FOV slider. These come as part of the patch's extended options and player settings improvements.

Another thing that is worth noting is that the process to transfer the service of Wayfinder from Sony to Airship Syndicate is still in the works.

There is also no information on when this will be completed and the developer posted that they will be submitting the Echoes patch for testing as soon as the transfer is complete, according to MMOBomb.
