iRacing Partners With Original Fire Games To Work on New Racing Game

iRacing has partnered with Original Fire Games in order to develop and publish a racing game that is said to be targeted at the broader casual racing market.

The initial plan of the new partnership is to create a new game that is currently featuring the working title iRacing Arcade in 2025 for PCs and consoles. The project is supposed to build upon the infrastructure of Circuit Superstars, which is Original Fire Games' current release.

The new game will be developed in order to take the already fun driving experience to the next level for players to enjoy. iRacing president Tony Gardner released a statement saying that they had long been interested in expanding into other niches in the race gaming market.

Gardner added that they have a lot of respect for Original Fire Games and what it has done for Circuit Superstars as many of their workers played and loved the game. He said that the game was very high quality and offered an amazing and fun driving experience, according to iRacing.

The iRacing president said that teaming up was the perfect opportunity for them to enter the space with a strong foundation that they can build upon.

He added that games such as Circuit Superstars are able to cultivate new racing enthusiasts who will later become the next generation of sim racers and the future player base of their simulations.

The co-founder and studio director at Original Fire Games, Carolina Mastretta, said that the studio was excited to partner with iRacing in this new endeavor. She noted that what they created with Circuit Superstars showed them that there is a very big desire for arcade-like racing experiences.

She praised iRacing for having talent, expertise, and technology that can help the studio catalyze the potential of the foundation that they have built so far. Mastretta added that iRacing has been successfully venturing into new racing genres and was able to recognize the potential of their debut title.

The upcoming game is currently scheduled for a release window of 2025 and the majority of the development will be led by Original Fire Games. On the other hand, iRacing will provide support by sharing various technologies and development resources, said Insider Gaming.

Building Upon Solid Foundations

So far, it is known that the upcoming racing game will feature a career mode and more in-depth gameplay elements. The studio's debut game, Circuit Superstars, combined cute visuals and a top-down perspective with physics grounded in reality.

In 2023, Karting Superstars was released and had a similar ethos but instead utilized chase camera angles for a more immersive gaming experience. When this game was released, Mastretta said that their biggest hope was that it could succeed and keep them running to fund their third game.

But with the partnership between iRacing and Original Fire Games, that dream may have just become even closer to being a reality. Mastretta said that they were "incredibly excited about this collaboration."

The Original Fire Games co-founder said that they are happy to be in a position to collaborate with such "knowledgeable developers and motorsport enthusiasts," according to Traxion.
