One criticism everyone seemed to have for Peggle 2 when it first hit the Xbox One was the lack of many of people's favorite Peggle Masters. There simply weren't enough of them, although we knew more were coming. Well one has hit today! Start up the game and you'll find a DLC pack that offers a new Peggle Master called Windy the Fairy.
Windy is a little sprite whose special ability is called 'Fairy Flock'. With that, she can tranform blue pegs into high-scoring purple pegs, make regular shots earn you Free Balls, and turn great shots into "massive monuments". The DLC pack will cost you $1.99 and offer up 10 new levels, 10 new trials, 30 additional objectives, three costumes and three new achievements.
It's good to see them continue to support the game with Peggle Masters, especially since online multiplayer came in a free update for the game. (The upcoming Xbox 360 port will include that right out of the box) Ode to Joy is included as always, of course. The game really would be nothing without a little Beethoven.
Peggle 2 is now only available for the Xbox One but it's coming to the Xbox 360 on May 7. Sony and Microsoft have been getting these exclusives wherever they can to convince people to pick up their new consoles but it's not exactly a game that requires a beast of a machine to run it. The original's been to every platform from iOS to the Nintendo DS.
With this it seems the doomsayers who proclaimed PopCap's demise under EA were wrong- despite some layoffs (a sad but inevitable fact of life in the game industry) the company seems to be thriving with its latest releases like this, Plants Vs Zombies 2, and Plants Vs. Zombies Garden Warfare.
