Capcom just released the demo version of its upcoming game, Kunitsu-Gami: Path of the Goddess which gives players a chance to unlock free rewards.
The studio promised that there would be Okami costumes and other cosmetics that would be released as a Day One bonus if enough players completed the latest demo. Capcom's NEXT Summer showcase featured Kunitsu-Gami: Path of the Goddess as its major contender.
Kunitsu-Gami: Path of the Goddess Demo
On top of being available on PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5, Kunitsu-Gami: Path of the Goddess will also be playable on Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, and PC. The special campaign for the Okami-themed rewards will run until July 17, 2024.
Players who are able to complete key parts of the latest demo will contribute to the campaign and if the milestone is reached, the release day pack will be available. The cross-over is an ambitious effort for the new game, which is expected to launch later this month, according to ShackNews.
Kunitsu-Gami: Path of the Goddess has beautiful visuals and is thematically interesting in its respect for Japanese culture. One thing that players may be confused about is its genre as it is billed as an action strategy game.

The game ignores some set lines and invites players into a large room that caters to both action and strategy fans. Kunitsu-Gami: Path of the Goddess encourages a mix of the two genres and allows you to lean one way or the other.
It follows a familiar pattern level after level for the most part with samurai Soh protecting maiden Yoshiro from evil creatures. You will visit various villages on Mt. Kafuku on your way to the top, cleansing them as you go.
An Innovative Gameplay Mechanic
Your main objective is to carve a Spirit Path through the village to the Torii Gate so that Yoshiro can purify it. The game also features a day and night cycle that has vastly different mechanics. In the day, you travel and purify the village and free villages, letting you earn crystals, said The Gamer.
These can then be used to assign different combat roles to villages before you use your remaining time to prepare for the night. Before the darkness comes, you should fix barriers or light lanterns to help with what is to come.
The enemies in the game come out at night and are known as the Seethe who pour through the Torii Gates and immediately target Yoshiro. It is up to you and your villages to defeat them in order to keep the maiden safe.
The battles in Kunitsu-Gami: Path of the Goddess will have you controlling Soh and using his blade to fight the Seethe. The samurai also has a set of attacks that can sweep through singular enemies, attack large areas, or launch enemies into the air.
There are also some abilities that you can unlock to unleash powerful attacks and you can buff your villagers depending on what you unlock and find. Kunitsu-Gami: Path of the Goddess is a breath of fresh air and adds an innovative twist to the genres that it undertakes, according to GodisaGeek.
