Hitman: World of Assassination Update Adds MMA Fighter Conor McGregor as Target

Hitman: World of Assassination just got a new update that adds a mission for Agent 47 next's target who is none other than MMA fighter Conor McGregor.

The stealth assassination game is still getting DLCs even years after it was first released and the latest one is most likely going to be a fan-favorite. Hitman: World of Assassination also bundles the three IO Interactive-developed titles into one single game.

It has long featured limited-time missions, called elusive targets, that provide players with a single opportunity to kill the target or they fail it forever. Fortunately, you are allowed to restart the game if you haven't died or completed all of the objectives beforehand.

You have to be careful, however, as doing either of those will completely lock you out of the mission. McGregor will be joining Hitman: World of Assassination's list of targets as an MMA fighter known simply as The Disruptor, according to Kotaku.

What makes the new mission even more fun is that the character will actually be facing off in a match against a character who was previously featured in Hitman 3 on a map from Hitman 2. Agent 47 apparently got the responsibility of taking out the MMA fighter before the match starts.

Based on the trailer for the new update, it doesn't sound like McGregor's enemy stands a chance of winning against The Disruptor. Not only is the in-game character modeled after the actual MMA fighter, but he was also fully voiced by him as well.

McGregor revealed earlier this week that he was going to star in a game that would be announced sometime in the next few days. That was before he deleted his post on X, formerly known as Twitter.

Taking Down Conor McGregor

In Hitman: World of Assassination, The Disruptor is described as a multi-millionaire MMA fighter who was worldwide fame. However, he was said to have started a feud with the CEO of a prominent tech company, which put a target on his back in the process, said IGN.

The mission that adds McGregor as the target can be accessed from June 27, 2024, to June 29, 2024, on all platforms that Hitman: World of Assassination is available. These are PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, Nintendo Switch, and PC.

The real-life MMA fighter said of his role in the game, "The age of The Disruptor is here. I had a lot of fun creating the character and bringing him to life." He said that he could not wait for players to try and take him down, noting that Agent 47 would be in the fight of his life.

In The Disruption mission, players will be taken to the island of Sgail "during a conclave of the secretive Ark Society." This is an organization that is made up of the world's richest and most powerful people.

IO Interactive also revealed that the mission will be available for players to access for free for Hitman newcomers as part of the game's Free Starter Pack, according to Polygon.
