But one thing that some people have warned is that the game feels like a grind at times, similar to other free-to-play games. A lot of the tasks that you need to finish can feel repetitive and you are forced to basically grind for every resource and material that you need.

Fans of the genre would most likely be expecting something like this as it is already a staple in many other titles. But what needs to happen is that people should feel good or have fun while they are grinding away mindlessly for something that they need, according to TheGamer.

The First Descendant is successful in providing fluid movement, gunplay, as well as interesting build theory-crafting for its multiple characters. The game's characters are predetermined and you have no option to create your own whatsoever.

While this might sound disappointing to players who want to be distinct, the characters included in The First Descendant all have unique personalities and builds. One of the characters, Bunny, is the first that you will get access to beyond your starting character.

She is capable of running through crowds using her area-of-effect electricity, which was probably one of the highlights of the beta that players had access to. Every single character can also be customized with more than 600 modules that can be upgraded, tweaked, enhanced, and paired with different weapons.

The latest trailer for the game reveals new details about characters Ajax, Bunny, and Valba along with various insights into the unique graphic features that will be available on PlayStation 5.

An official description of The First Descendant says it focuses on the fun of grinding and growth, said the PlayStation Blog.

A Grindy But Fun Looter-Shooter

In The First Descendant, players will be able to collect and enhance various characters, firearms, external components, and modules. When the game launches, there will be five new fields that were not previously revealed.

There will also be 16 types of new end-game content known as Instance Dungeons as well as 16 types of Void Intercept Battles. The latter are large boss raids that are considered to be the highlight of the game.

The launch will also include the introduction of 19 Descendants, who are central to the game. Out of these, 14 will be original and there will be five high-performance versions that are known as Ultimate Descendants.

Creative director Minseok Joo said that they have received quests for "enhanced story content" for The First Descendant. He noted that this has resulted in "comprehensive revisions of the main story to make it more immersive."

There will be other Descendants who will appear as NPCs in main story missions that players can interact with. There are also some specific characters who get their own unique story quests, starting with Bunny, according to PCGamesN.
