Dr. Disrespect Dropped by Game Studio Following Twitch Ban Controversy

Midnight Society, the game studio co-founded by Dr Disrespect, has announced its decision to sever ties with the prominent streamer amidst allegations that surfaced recently.

Allegations Lead to Studio's Decision

In a statement released on the company's official account, Midnight Society acknowledged being informed of allegations against Dr Disrespect, whose real name is Guy Beahm, on Friday evening. Although the studio did not specify the nature of the allegations, it coincides with accusations raised by former Twitch employees.

"We presumed his innocence and initiated discussions with all parties involved," the statement read. "However, to uphold our principles and standards both as a studio and as individuals, decisive action was necessary. Therefore, we are immediately ending our association with Guy Beahm."

The statement also emphasized their responsibility to act respectfully towards all involved parties, including their team of fifty-five developers and their community of players. As of now, Guy Beahm remains listed as a co-founder on Midnight Society's official website.

Beahm's Response and Controversy

Amidst the unfolding events, Guy Beahm, also known as Dr. Disrespect, took to social media to deny the allegations. In statements on X, he declared his innocence, affirming, "I have not committed any wrongdoing; investigations have confirmed this, and no illegal activities were found. I have also been compensated," on Saturday.

Background and Studio's Vision

Guy Beahm, alongside three other veterans from the gaming and esports industries, founded Midnight Society, gaining attention with its establishment in December 2021. Dr. Disrespect's involvement has significantly boosted the studio's visibility, with a focus on developing the multiplayer game DEADROP.

Shortly before Midnight Society's announcement, Dr Disrespect hinted at taking an unplanned break during a livestream of Elden Ring. He mentioned considering an early vacation but did not disclose further details regarding its duration or reasons.
