MMORPG Tarisland Experiences Troubled Launch Despite Several Betas

Tarisland, a new competitor in the MMORPG field, is experiencing a troubled launch as many players are disappointed with the game's full release despite there being several betas beforehand.

Some of the reviews for the newly released MMORPG argue that Tarisland has little in the way of making itself stand out from the rest of the other games in the genre. They noted that what good things the game has can be easily brushed off or forgotten because of bad release decisions.

What is worth noting is that these complaints did not focus on the technical side of things as Tarisland seems to be running just fine for the majority of players. There have so far been no major complaints of server disconnections or other similar problems.

While some may argue that this is because there are not a lot of people playing the game, a lot of the activities and areas were relatively active.

The issue lies from a quality standpoint as Tarisland looks just right but the storyline is forgettable and was paced with the nuances of someone who was just writing excessively, according to MassivelyOP.

Another issue is that the localization is bad and that there was not good treatment for the Western player base. This could have been understandable if Tarisland was being handled by a smaller indie studio and not one as big as Tencent.

Some argued that it was either arrogance or laziness that has led to Tarisland being what it is now, featuring shoddily translated, poorly written, terrible voice-acted content.

Additionally, the dialogue in the story, both spoken and written, was horribly put together that some even glossed over the quest text just to find the most salient points and skip the rest.

What makes the issue even more problematic is that Tencent has enough resources to prevent this from ever happening in the first place. The studio is well-off enough to be able to afford a competent and high-quality localization team but probably chose not to get one.

The MMORPG's Features

Tarisland's issues come as the game has been released with North American, South American, European, Eastern European, and Asian servers being available to choose from. The MMORPG is playable on mobile and PC and features full cross-platform options, said PCGamesN.

It also seems to be planning to set the MMO free from the traditional method of sitting in front of the computer and plowing through everything though this is still something that you can do. The game's launch also coincides with its first season or pre-season.

Season 0 will start Tarisland off with several five-player dungeons and ten-player raid bosses as well as a series of promised PvE modes, known as Arcane Realm, Universal Hall, and Dark Invasion.

The game features nine different classes; Barbarian, Bard, Fighter, Mage, Paladin, Phantom Necro, Priest, Ranger, Shadow Swordsman, and Warrior. Each of these will also come with a pair of specialization talent sets and eight main Ultimates.

Each of the dungeons that players will challenge in Tarisland will have several difficulty modes that would cater to casual and hardcore gamers, according to Tarisland Global.
