Pokemon Scarlet and Violet Announce Sceptile Tera Raid Battle Event

Pokemon Scarlet and Violet have revealed an exciting new Tera Raid Battle event centered around Sceptile, a formidable Pokemon with the Dragon Tera Type.

Sceptile in 7-Star Raids

Players can now challenge Sceptile in 7-Star Raids, where it will showcase its Dragon Tera Type. Sceptile will be equipped with the prestigious Mightiest Mark, making it a tough opponent to beat.

In Tera Raid Battles, up to four players team up to battle powerful Pokemon within a limited time frame. These events feature various Pokemon, some of which possess rare Tera Types.

To participate in Tera Raid Battles, players need to ensure their Nintendo Switch is connected to the internet to receive the latest Poke Portal News. Alternatively, they can manually check for updates through the Poke Portal in the X menu under Mystery Gift.

Event Dates and Participation

The Tera Raid Battle event featuring Sceptile in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet will commence on June 28 and conclude on June 30. A second round of the event is scheduled from July 5 to July 7.

First round: June 28, 8:00 PM Eastern to June 30, 7:59 PM Eastern

Second round: July 5, 8:00 PM Eastern to July 7, 7:59 PM Eastern

Sceptile the Unrivaled

Sceptile will appear as Sceptile the Unrivaled during the event, sporting its unique Tera-Dragon type. This type is a nod to its Mega Evolution seen in Pokemon Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire. Sceptile's Dragon-type moves like Dragon Tail and Breaking Swipe will be particularly potent.

However, despite its strengths, Sceptile has weaknesses that trainers can exploit. Its Hidden Ability, Unburden, typically won't come into play during Tera Raid battles, as boss Pokemon usually do not hold items. Additionally, Sceptile's vulnerability to Fairy-type Pokemon and their moves like Play Rough could prove challenging for the Forest Pokemon due to its lower physical defenses.

Trainers may find Pokemon like Sylveon, Alolan Ninetails, and Galarian Weezing especially effective against Sceptile the Unrivaled. The strategies players will employ to conquer this powerful foe are anticipated with excitement.
