Palworld Community Manager Teases Game Could be Coming to PlayStation 5

A Palworld community manager has seemingly teased that the highly popular Pokemon-like monster-taming game is coming to PlayStation 5 consoles amid a successful early access version.

The supposed tease, which is in the form of a tweet, comes as the game is currently only available for PC and Xbox Series X/S users. On X, formerly known as Twitter, community manager @Bucky_cm.

In his post, the community manager posted the word Palworld in the middle of multiple colored hearts that seemingly represent the consoles it could be played on right now. He said that he wanted to add more and then wrote the same word but this time adding blue hearts, which supposedly represent PlayStation.

Despite the alleged tease, fans of Palworld will just have to wait and see for official confirmation to come out, if it ever would, to know if a PlayStation 5 version is actually coming out.

The rumors come as the game's developer, PocketPair showed off Palworld's next expansion earlier this month, according to VG247.

During the Summer Game Fest, the developer showed off the game's Sakurajima Update which features a lot of new content, including new Pals and a brand-new island. The island featured Japanese-inspired content, including Sakura Blossoms.

One user also wrote, "WAIT PLAYSTATION VERSION CONFIRMED" after seeing the Palworld community manager's post on X. On the other hand, other people are waiting until June 27, 2024, for any sort of official announcement as this is when the next update for the game is coming out.

PocketPair's latest update for its massively popular monster-taming game follows the reveal of four Pals that will be coming this summer. These include one frog-like Pal, Croajira, who has a stick, and a mushroom-headed small Pal, said Eurogamer.

Since launching in early access on Steam in January this year, Palworld rose to critical acclaim, but without controversy. This is primarily due to its eerie similarity with Pokemon, Nintendo's flagship franchise.

PocketPair's Weird Choice of Content

And with the upcoming Sakurajima update, PocketPair is highlighting its game's massive world design problem. The main thing about this is a new structure, the oil rig, which has a realistic graphic style, clashing with Paworld's fantasy setting.

The introduction of the new structure raises concerns among players regarding Palworld's game-world design inconsistency. While the oil rig will be a new area that can be explored, its visual look doesn't fully fit in the game's setting.

While the structure adds a new layer of gameplay and intrigue due to its currently unknown mechanics and features, its graphics raise some issues. One of these is that it was very realistic and looks standoffish, disconnecting it from the rest of the game.

Additionally, the structure's design highlights the strange choice of including highly advanced technology while Palworld has a primitive/modern hybrid world. The oil rig's addition also suggests that PocketPair could add more out-of-place tools and structures in the future.

The issue only adds to the game's woes, such as some of its Pals looking awfully familiar to some Pokemon in Nintendo's franchise. The oil rig just adds another thing that players can feel off about the game, according to GameRant.
