Pax Dei Devs Issue Fix to Early Access Issues Shortly After Rocky Steam Launch

Pax Dei developer Mainframe Industries introduced a new update to the social-first MMO to fix some issues in its early access version following a rocky launch on Steam.

The development comes as many players who got into the game complained of server issues throughout the first day of release. Mainframe Industries have already addressed some of the problems and also explained how they plan to tackle others.

As Pax Dei launched into early access on Steam, it had the typical issues that the majority of live service games experience storming out of the gate. Some servers, particularly the US East worlds, were having some issues.

Some players reported having trouble getting into crafting homesteads because the build queue on the server was a few hours behind. This meant that it would take several hours for the server to finally recognize a crafting station, wall, or whatever you placed.

Mainframe Industries identified this particular issue, along with other major problems, and issued a hotfix to address them. On top of these, some players complained of rubber banding, lag across different servers, and recipe unlocks being delayed, according to MMORPG.

While the majority of these issues have already been fixed, the developers said that they are still "monitoring the situation" with regard to the rubber banding problem. This was to make sure that they had a permanent fix in place.

Despite the announcement of the fixes, not every issue has been addressed and some players are still unable to log into the game and some parties or clans are still broken. Pax Dei developers also detailed how they tackled the day one problems with a "war room" style post on the official Discord.

They explained the workings of their process, and how the day went from the earliest issues to Discord reports from players as they entered the servers. It gave players an interesting look into the operations of the studio on launch day.

The game is a social-first MMO that is trying to compete against powerhouses such as World of Warcraft, Final Fantasy 14, and classic Runescape. It features a map that stretches hundreds of square kilometers, a player-driven economy and society system, and a world that is filled with myth, said PCGamesN.

A Social-First MMO

Pax Dei features two gameplay loops as it channels the core tenants of the biggest and best MMORPGs; peaceful and adventurous. In the former, players can craft, build their own homestead, and gather resources.

On the other hand, the adventurous part lets you engage in both PvE and PvP as well as lets you explore the 300-square-kilometer map filled with uncharted regions. On top of its sheer size, the world is filled with mythical creatures, ghosts, and even magic.

However, some players were disappointed with Pax Dei's early access version but because of something completely unrelated to the issues of the day one launch. This was because some features, which were in the alpha, were not included in the latest release.

But one of the better differences between the alpha and early access versions of Pax Dei is the ease with which players can progress. It now takes a lot less time to build and craft and will no longer take the majority of your day, according to PCGamer.
