Gather Everything

Similar to other RPGs, and even the mainline Monster Hunter games themselves, Monster Hunter Stories 2: Wings of Ruin has a lot of items in the overworld that you can find. These range from basic mushrooms to important ingredients that you can use later on.

Getting everything that you see is a surefire way to have enough supplies on hand when you need to use any of them on the go or for crafting something more powerful. Some of these items are also used in quests, which would make it a time saver to get them earlier rather than later.

Prayer Pot

The Prayer Pot is a large pot found in the middle of a village that has a strange face on it. Players can use prayers and charms to add various buffs to their character and should be used before heading out in the world. You can have one of each prayer and charm at a time.

There are also some charms that can be acquired as rewards from various quests, from Monstie Expeditions, or even in treasure chests.

Focus on Head-to-Head Battles

The main combat mechanic that players will experience in Monster Hunter Stories 2: Wings of Ruin is the attack-type system. This relies on using three different forms of attacks to beat your enemies or cancel their move altogether.

While you can choose whatever attack you want to damage foes, when you are both targeting each other, the type matters much more. You need to learn which type is stronger than others and utilize this information wisely, said Polygon.

Party Up in Multiplayer

Monster Hunter Stories 2: Wings of Ruin has multiplayer support for some quests that are optional. You can team up with one other person from the Quest Board but one thing to note is that you cannot progress through the story when you are playing with someone else.

On top of this, you will need tickets to gain access to multiplayer quests but will be rewarding because you can gather four eggs. When you collect the first three, you will need to fight the boss, which will drop the fourth one, according to IGN.
