Indie game developer and publisher XD has announced the release date for their new tactical JRPG, Sword of Convallaria. This game brings players into the war-torn nation of Iria, where political unrest abounds. As a player, you will lead a group of adventurers to change the course of your lives and the nation's destiny. The game is set to release on July 31, 2024, for PC via Steam and mobile devices.

Engaging Tactical Combat
In Sword of Convallaria, players build a team of allies with unique abilities to fight in strategic, grid-based battles against rival factions. The game's combat system allows for careful planning and powerful attacks to defeat a wide variety of enemies.
Players will need to navigate different terrains, such as cliffs and boulders, which can offer buffs and debuffs. These terrain features add depth to the strategy, letting players use the environment to their advantage, like rolling stones to knock out enemies or using water for instant kills.

The story in Sword of Convallaria changes based on player decisions, shaping the future of Iria. The game offers 120 hours of single-player gameplay, with a rich narrative driven by player choices and achievements. Players can recruit unique companions at the tavern, build equipment at the forge, and train stats in the training field. This allows for a custom-built mercenary group to embark on legendary quests with different factions.
Adding to the game's allure is a mesmerizing soundtrack by Hitoshi Sakimoto, known for his work on Final Fantasy Tactics and Valkyria Chronicles. The game also features voice performances by renowned actors Kazuhiko Inoue, Aoi Yūki, and Takuya Eguchi, bringing the characters of Iria to life.
