Sonic X Shadow Generations Leak Reveals Potential Release Date, Box Art

A leak for Sonic X Shadow Generations allegedly unveils the game's potential release date as well as its box art ahead of the Summer Game Fest.

This comes after last week's rumors that the game will be making an appearance in the upcoming event. The latest leak allegedly includes a few key details about Sonic X Shadow Generations itself.

Sonic X Shadow Generations' Leak

It seems that the release date and box art of the game has apparently been confirmed by insider Billbil-kun via an article on Dealabs. The leaks suggest that Sonic X Shadow Generations will be released on Oct. 25, 2024, and that physical copies will be sold for $49.99 each.

Another leaker, MysteryLupin, also posted apparent screenshots from the new Sonic game, which show the titular protagonist and his rival, Shadow, in both remastered and entirely new levels. They also show more of the upcoming title's promotional art that has been posted on X, formerly known as Twitter.

Several other leaked promotional art shows off available in-game rewards, such as a journal that was written by Gerald Robotnik that details Shadow's creation and a legacy skin with Sonic's model that was seen in Sonic Adventure, according to IGN.

The new game was first unveiled during the State of Play that was held in January and while it is an enhanced remaster of Sonic Generations from 2011, it promises to bring new levels that feature Shadow the Hedgehog.

SEGA could confirm some of the leaked information about Sonic X Shadow Generations during the Summer Game Fest. The official description for the game reads that Shadow is back with Classic and Modern Sonic in an all-new collection that features two unique experiences.

You will be able to play as Shadow the Hedgehog and play through a brand-new story campaign that features never-before-seen powers and abilities. These will prove why the main antagonistic character is known as the Ultimate Life Form.

Additionally, Sonic X Shadow Generations features a complete remaster of the classic Sonic Generations game. It will also show off remastered versions of iconic 2D and 3D stages that have been filled with upgraded visuals and new bonus content, said NintendoEverything.

A Potential Release Date

The official reveal trailer for the game showed Shadow tackling one of his most personal foes, Black Doom. It also featured him fighting classic bosses such as Biolizard, generating even more hype among fans of the franchise.

Many people are also eager to dive into the story, particularly with regard to Shadow's role and the character that would tie into the story of Generations. While Sonic X Shadow Generations has already been announced for Autumn, there was no specific release date shared.

Billbil-kun's leak of an Oct. 25, 2024, release date matches up with a related leak by Midori regarding the game's Nintendo Switch version. The latter claimed that SEGA and Sonic Team had submitted that version for review and are preparing for digital purchase options to go live very soon.

Another thing that Midori and other insiders have leaked is another part of the game that many fans would most likely be excited about. This is the return of the Sonic franchise's Chao Garden mechanic, according to GameRant.
