MultiVersus Brings New Update To Address Performance Issues

A new update for MultiVersus aims to address various performance issues that players are experiencing in the game and an announcement noted that the Iron Giant character will return "shortly."

The developer, Player First Games, has teased fans of the game about upcoming patches that will flesh out its platform fighter. The new update will include more enhancements, options, and the return of the Iron Giant.

The studio also detailed its plans for the game on social media and promised to deliver improvements based on player feedback in the near future. These include performance improvements, End of Game stats, and the ability to turn off team colors.

Furthermore, Player First Games clarified that the option to buy extra lives in-game is unintentional and will be addressed. On the other hand, the studio explained that it was still working on the Iron Giant character.

The developer said that it plans to reintroduce the character soon after it was removed on June 3, 2024, following complaints it offered players an unfair advantage. It remains unclear in what order the studio plans to roll out the new fixes and improvements, according to IGN.

The latest update comes after MultiVersus relaunched last month after the end of its open beta last summer.

Since the return of Warner Bros.' platform fighter, Player First Games has introduced a lot of new characters, including Jason from Friday the 13th, Agent Smith from The Matrix, and the Joker from the DC Universe.

The issues that the game has experienced include frame rate issues for console users and lagging concerns.

Despite Player First Games supposedly bringing a more polished MultiVersus, players have already had complaints about certain changes. These include characters being locked behind purchases or not usable in local play or training.

In its social media post, Player First Games acknowledged the issues, adding that it is working on optimizing and improving frame rates. Players were quick to respond to the developer with relatively positive feedback.

Iron Giant Removed From Roster

One user thanked the studio for acknowledging the issues and immediately getting to work on addressing them. Another said that it was the only bug that they have experienced while playing MultiVersus, said Dexerto.

The Iron Giant issue, on the other hand, is a little bit more controversial in that the character was removed from the game's roster in the middle of a tournament. The event was known as Into The Multiverse #1 and was an online tournament for the game.

In it, player M0b|FLaSHReeez went up a game using the Iron Giant character on Bacala on the losers' side of the bracket. It was at that moment that it was removed from play, which resulted in confusion and humorous reactions from people in the tournament chat log.

The players later determined that Iron Giant was removed from the list of playable characters altogether and FLaSHFReeez was forced to switch to Shaggy.

Despite the incident, the player still went on to win not only the set but also the one after that before being eliminated just before the top 32, according to EventHubs.
