Bleach: Brave Souls is reportedly coming to Nintendo Switch as well as Xbox consoles alongside new content to the game based on the original Shonen Jump manga and anime.

Game developers KLab announced that the game will be coming to Nintendo Switch, Xbox Series X/S, and Xbox One worldwide in the summer of 2024. However, this would exclude mainland China and some other regions due to a variety of issues.

The game will be released in several languages; Japanese, English, French, and Traditional Chinese, and will have the option to be purchased from the Nintendo eShop and Microsoft Store. Bleach: Brave Souls was previously available on PlayStation, PC, and mobile.

The press release for the latest announcement also noted that the massively popular 3D action game has been downloaded more than 90 million times. It will also be receiving a new achievement system that allows players to earn special points when they complete various tasks, according to CBR.

The worldwide release will also have an increase in the maximum number of times that certain quests can be completed and permanently granted effects. It was also revealed that five-star characters Masaki Kurosaki and Isshin Shiba will be added to the game as gacha unlocks.

The two recently announced characters received a major spotlight in the ongoing sequel of the Bleach anime, Bleach: Thousand-Year Blood War. The third cour of the series will be released this year and is among the first titles in Studio Pierrot's new PIERROT FILMS brand.

In a recent interview, anime producer Yoshihiro Tominaga also said that the goal of the new venture is to "provide high-quality pictures and stories in a short period of time while firmly strengthening the studio's brand power."

The latest announcement comes nine years after Bleach: Brave Souls was initially released. At the time, the game was only available on iOS and Android devices and was exclusively available to Japan in 2015, said ComicBook.

The official description for the game reads that it is a long-running title that many anime and game fans enjoy playing. Since it was first released, Bleach: Brave Souls has received various updates that added characters from the Bleach universe.

Coming With New Content and Features

KLab, talking about the new achievement system, said that it is a new feature that will make it easier for players to enjoy Bleach: Brave Souls with its permanent bonuses. These permanent effects include claiming Spirit Orbs, Essence Scrolls, Super Link Slot Potions, and other items periodically.

Bleach: Brave Souls coming out to more platforms is all part of KLab's strategy to broaden its platform availability. It also reflects its commitment to reaching a wider audience through a multi-purpose content approach.

This is a new approach that is also being used by another video game giant, Square Enix, which has decided to move forward with a multiplatform strategy following declining profits of its exclusive titles, according to Techopedia.

The upcoming release of Bleach: Brave Souls to Nintendo Switch and Xbox comes as there have been quite a number of Bleach-related games released in the past few years. These all span a variety of genres and platforms, showcasing the series' popularity.
