The League of Legends player base is in an uproar after the reveal of a Faker skin bundle that costs roughly $450.
The content of the new package is themed around notorious player Lee "Faker" Sang-hyeok and came alongside news that reveals he is being inducted into Riot's hall of fame, the Hall of Legends.
League of Legends' Faker Skin Bundle
In a post on its website, the studio explained that it collaborated with the eSports legend to create an event pass that celebrates his legacy. The festivities will include three new Ahri Collections with prices that are turning players' heads.
Every single bundle is more expensive than the last and the first is the Risen Legend Collection which costs 5,430 RP or roughly $40. This one includes the Hall of Legends Pass, a Takedown Counter Taunt, an icon, an emote, a banner, and Ahri with a unique, orange, and white skin.
The second is significantly more expensive and costs 32,430 RP or roughly $250 and features the Risen Collection as well as a selection of exclusive skin transformations, finishers, the Immortalized Ahri skin, and many more, according to IGN.
The last costs 59,260 RP or roughly $450 and is known as the Signature Immortalized Legend Collection. This bundle features the Immortalized Collection as well as a "Final Boss Faker" title, a Faker-themed signature move and structure finisher, an exclusive border, banner, 100 pass levels, and many more.

It was almost expected that League of Legends players would express their thoughts on the bundle as it has a lot of content but also features a uniquely high price tag. One Reddit user pointed out that Faker was known for taking less salary so he could stay in Korea.
They wondered how he could be associated with these crazy new packages where the base skin isn't even able to transform. They added that they looked at the first two packages and pretty much expected a physical Ahri statue to be included in the bundles.
Widespread Negative Feedback
Riot, in anticipation of potential backlash from the pricing of the new bundles, added an FAQ to the web page for the skins. In this, the company explained how it got to this pricing structure and even called the basic level one of its most generous bundles ever, said Forbes.
It also noted that while the second and third bundles are more expensive, they are meant to be highly commemorative and feature never-before-implemented features. However, the majority of fan responses on social media have been negative.
Many people believe that the pricing of the bundles has been misjudged, with one user saying that when they saw them, they initially thought it was a typo. While the top package is designed for whales, even the second bundle is out of range for a lot of League of Legends players.
The Hall of Legends is a prestigious honor that recognizes professional players worldwide who have managed to achieve greatness in the game.
There are not just any players as inductees are those who have been found to have shown incredible resilience and master of League of Legends' gameplay, according to OneEsports.
