Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door was recently released as a remake for the Nintendo Switch that features a lot of quality-of-life improvements while keeping mostly the same mechanics as the original.

Similar to many RPG titles, Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door has a lot of enemies that players will encounter throughout their adventure. When they are defeated, they have various drops that can be useful depending on what you plan to do.

The game doesn't automatically give you the drops when you kill an enemy, which is why you need to make sure that you pick them up from the ground.

Investigation is Key

Many parts of the environment in the game are made of paper, which makes it perceived as flat. However, this also makes it easy for the developers to hide things behind typical objects that some people would simply ignore.

These could include a Star Piece or badge tucked behind paper-thin barrels or bushes in the foreground. It is also recommended to smash every bush with a hammer to find items, coins, and other useful stuff, according to Polygon.

Make Use of Your Partner

In Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door, players will mainly control Mario, there are some attacks that can only be executed on the first monster on the left. This means that it is important to strategize when there are a lot of enemies ahead of you.

Use Your Badges

In this game, you are not just limited to your Jump and Hammer attacks and there are a variety of badges that you can equip. These are items that boost Mario's stats and can even give him brand-new moves.

This particular feature adds another layer of strategy when going into battle and you can use Badge Pints (BP) to give Mario new attacks or make him stronger, said Nintendo Life.

Stock Up on Healing Items

You never know when you might need to heal so keeping a stock of healing items can spell the difference between a successful run or having to go through certain areas again. There are several bosses that can continuously whittle down your HP in a short time.

While you can use Flower Points (FP) and Special Moves to restore lost health, nothing is better than having access to consistent healing options. These include Mushrooms, Super Shrooms, and Ultra Shrooms.

While Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door and its release made many fans of the original game excited, there are some who think the game is a little bit too expensive for what it delivers. The price tag for the game is $60 and some say that this is a lot to ask for, particularly for a 20-year-old game, according to ScreenRant.

Despite this, and many other issues and complaints that some people have with the recently released remake, Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door is sure to bring back a good sense of nostalgia among fans.
