RuneScape Unveils T95 Weapon, Magic Beta Alongside Sanctum of Rebirth Feedback Drive

The RuneScape team has introduced a new blog series called Right Click Examine (RCE). This series will present development ideas and new features while asking for player input and feedback. The goal is to continue building a strong player-developer partnership.

Sanctum of Rebirth

The latest topic in the RCE series is the Sanctum of Rebirth Boss Dungeon, set to release in July. This new dungeon offers a fresh take on the Elite Dungeon format. Unlike previous dungeons, this one will focus solely on boss fights without the need to battle through rooms of enemies beforehand. Designed for 1-4 players, the dungeon will come in both Normal and Hard difficulty options.

The RuneScape team aims to create a challenging yet approachable Player vs. Monster (PvM) experience. They want it to be tough but not overwhelming, especially for solo players or those less experienced. Feedback is crucial for this, as the developers seek input on proposed death mechanics.

One idea is to make death less of a failure point and more of a temporary setback. If a player dies, they won't be removed from the fight but will be unable to act for a short time before rejoining. This mechanic is only for the Normal difficulty level, ensuring a more forgiving experience without compromising the challenge.

T95 Weapon and Magic Beta Testing

In addition to the new dungeon, RuneScape is launching a short beta test for a new T95 weapon and magic ability changes from May 30 to June 6. Players will test three different weapon concepts and provide feedback to help determine the final design. The beta will also include changes to magic abilities, with the team looking for feedback on how these abilities play and feel.

Detailed information about the three weapon concepts and the magic changes can be found in the full blog post. The blog also provides instructions on how to join the beta and what areas to focus on during testing.
