Manor Lords Update Fixes Exponential Sheep Breeding, Trading, Makes Other Adjustments

Manor Lords developer Slavic Magic released a new experimental update to the game that finally fixes some players' ever-growing sheep problem by capping the number that they can breed and also includes a variety of fixes and adjustments.

While breeding sheep to collect wool and sell it on the market is a profitable process, it can quickly lead to oversaturation and make the resource worthless. This is a problem that many players faced when they were unable to control the number of sheep that were rapidly multiplying.

The latest patch fixes this issue by capping the spawning rate of the animals to one calf every 10 days max. This should make players' farms considerably easier to manage and will help prevent the wool market from completely cratering.

On top of this major change, the patch also lets players "hire 6 militia squads even if you already have retinue and mercenaries employed." Additionally, trading received a lot of fixes and on-foot traders can now carry up to five items per trip, according to PCGamer.

There is another interesting change in the update, which is giving players the ability to disallow setting up stalls on the marketplace for certain families or workplaces.

This was previously an issue because there were some citizens who would end up spending the majority of their time at a market stall selling vegetables instead of working their actual jobs.

Other than these, there are a lot of other adjustments and changes in the patch that aim to make Manor Lords a much better gaming experience for players. These include changes to fields and harvesting, barter and trading, construction, and more.

The latest patch also includes a handful of visual improvements to the game, including "Tuned field dirt UV wiggle" that will make the massive vegetable gardens that players made less wavy, said GamesRadar.

For now, this experimental update is only available to be tested by players on the PC version of Manor Lords. This means that those on Xbox will have to wait while Steam players get their hands on it early.

Implementing Adjustments and Changes

In regards to gameplay and balance, other things included in the update are villagers now only being allowed to fetch water from the well that is located closest to their home. There is an exception to this which is when there is a fire.

Another is that yield will now no longer go past 100% growth because it became unintuitive for players that it can still increase more than this. And even when fertility reaches 0%, players should still be able to see a tiny bit of yield.

Slavic Magic also boosted max yield per plant from two to four but the Hunting Grounds policy still reduces this by half. When it comes to minor changes, these include the removal of the optimization where only every nth plant affected the fertility values.

This particular change was made because it led to too many errors in displaying fertility values. The developer also made fertility overlay colors and colorblind symbols more accurate with the percentages that were displayed in the building panel, according to ComicBook.
