Seablip is a gorgeous pixel-art graphics game that is also a side-scroller where players will take control of a pirate ship across an open world map. The world is full of islands that you can explore and is filled with treasures that are just waiting to be plundered.

You will also be able to make various stop-offs to randomly fight enemy ships and claim your title as the most feared pirate across the seven seas. The game also has a ship management feature where you can unlock 48 different upgrades, according to GamesRadar.

These will provide various benefits, such as bolstering hulls, adding magic shields or fire damage, and even recruiting various sailors who each have unique attributes and skills. If you like games that let you micromanage your people, then Seablip will help you live out that dream.

While the game draws inspiration from Terraria and Faster Than Light, Seablip also takes some elements from Sid Meier's Pirates! to offer players a more immersive atmosphere.

On top of Seablip's offering of hidden discoveries, secret treasures, and various mini-games, it also gives players the task of taking on seven bosses, or so-called bounties. Additionally, the developer is planning to add more of these in future updates to the game.

So far, Steam user reviews have complimented the game for its cozy atmosphere, satisfying progression, and how it takes a lot of inspiration and mixes them all into an ocean-sized melting pot. The developer also apparently left some notes in some unfinished sections that players can keep an eye out for.

Releasing Continuous Updates

With regards to Seablip's crew management system, players will have to care for them as there are a limited number of them available. Additionally, their unique attributes and skills will change as they experience more battles, said Rock Paper Shotgun.

The description of the game also reveals that the goal is not to rush out of its early access version but to sustain constant and valuable updates over time. The developer is trying to aim for a full release next year.

Seablip is not only all about spending your time on the seas, as when players are on land, you can fish, hunt for treasure, and learn how to pick locks. The game's Steam page also wrote, "Get up to no good." It also describes the bounty hunting system as "the main objective in the current Early Access version."

Players who are looking to get into the world of a pirate adventurer can do so now for a discounted price of 10% that will last until Friday, May 24, 2024. This is meant to celebrate the game's early access launch, according to PCGamesN.
