Capcom is once again remaking Resident Evil 1, aiming to bring new life to the classic survival horror game. This news comes from two reliable sources: horror game leaker Dusk Golem and survival horror YouTuber Biohazard Declassified.

Details on the Remake

According to Biohazard Declassified, they received an anonymous email about the remake. The email claims the game, tentatively titled "Biohazard: Resident Evil 1," will have a slower pace than the Resident Evil 2 Remake. It will feature a third-person camera and delve deeper into the original game's lore.

The email also states that each zombie in the game will have a unique model, due to the smaller number of enemies. This change aims to make encounters more memorable and challenging. The game will also reintroduce "Crimson Heads," more powerful zombie variants that return after being killed.

Furthermore, the remake will eliminate pre-rendered backgrounds. Instead, each room will load background assets dynamically as players open doors. This change is intended to improve visuals and lighting throughout the game.

Dusk Golem confirmed the rumors on social media, stating that the Resident Evil 1 Remake is in production and is planned to release in 2026. Golem mentioned the remake will be in third person and hinted it would align with the franchise's 30th anniversary celebrations.
