Dragon Ball: Sparking Zero's release date may have just been leaked and a dataminer is claiming that the latest game in the franchise will launch on Oct. 1, 2024.
The leaker, known as SergioM3R, says they stumbled upon the game's supposed release date while poking around in publisher Bandai Namco's website. They said that they discovered evidence of when the game will actually go live.
Dragon Ball: Sparking Zero Release Date
SergioM3R said he "found a place containing the release dates for a lot of Bandai Namco games." This particular list seems to include the launch schedules of both confirmed and unconfirmed titles not via a third party but through Bandai Namco's "own official data."
Despite the leak, the dataminer acknowledged that no information was set in stone until fans heard directly from Bandai Namco themselves.
The list of release dates include confirmed launch schedules as well as rumored dates for various titles and so far, only one has been found to be inaccurate, according to Eurogamer.
Following the leak of Dragon Ball: Sparking Zero's potential release date, users on Reddit's Gaming Leaks and Rumours subreddit added further support to the claims. They reminded fans that "1 was 10/06, 2 was 10/05, and 3 was 10/04, 4 on 10/03 would continue the pattern."
The latest leak also goes in line with recent leaks that suggest the recent Dragon Ball game is set to be released this year and not next year, which is something that some fans of the franchise were concerned about.
Back in March 2024, Dragon Ball: Sparking Zero secured an ESRB rating shortly after manga legend and franchise creator Akira Toriyama passed away at age 68.

The mangaka was widely known for his work on the manga franchise and also had a hand in various video games. He was also responsible for the character designs in Dragon Quest, Chrono Trigger, and Blue Dragon.
The other titles that had release dates alongside Dragon Ball: Sparking Zero were Gundam Breaker 4, SpyXAnya: Operation Memories, and many others. Despite this information, it is entirely possible that the release dates are placeholders for the actual launch schedules, said EventHubs.
Leaks of Various Titles
Some of the discrepancies between the listed and actual dates include Elden Ring which was seen on June 23, 2024. This seems to have been referencing the game's first and reportedly final expansion, the Shadow of the Erdtree, which is officially confirmed to be coming out on June 21, 2024.
The leaker also said that he redacted a handful of titles from the list that may have not been fully unveiled yet if all of the dates are legitimate.
If the release date for Dragon Ball: Sparking Zero turns out to be true, it would be three days before the 17th anniversary of Dragon Ball Z Budokai Tenkaichi 3's Japanese release.
The leak comes after the game's ESRB rating, which gave fans hope that Dragon Ball: Sparking Zero will be launching sometime this year.
The Infocomm Media Development Authority (IMDA) revealed that the title got the approved rating for release on the PlayStation 5. This supposedly included an attachment noting that it will be coming out in 2024, according to GameRant.
