Forza Horizon 5's Season 34 update is looking to be a blast from the past as it seems to be adding a lot of retro-style content to the racing game.

The new content drop for the racing game will add new futuristic cars and give players a chance to listen to nearly two dozen new songs. The update, known as Horizon Retrowave, is the latest update for Xbox's flagship open-world racing title.

There will also be a new radio station, known as Horizon Wave, that features 21 new tracks that players can play while cruising the Neon Highway. There are five new cars included in this update as well as some Minecraft-inspired cosmetics in celebration of the game's 15th anniversary.

The developer, Playground Games, recently revealed everything that fans need to know about the next major content update, Horizon Retrowave is launching next week and will take players straight into the 1980s with endless neon, pulsing new songs, and new cars, according to WindowsCentral.

Playground Games also showed off the upcoming update in a new Let's Go! livestream that gave players a glimpse of what they could expect to come next week. The five new cars are either '80s classics or were inspired by the cars of that time.

The new additions are the 1980 Lotus Esprit Turbo, the 1986 BMW M635CSi, the 1986 Citroen BX 4TC, the 2021 Lamborghini Countach LPI 800-4, and the 2022 Hyundai N Vision 74. The new radio station will also feature a new DJ, Isabel Moss, and will be themed around pulsing synthwave music.

On top of these, Forza Horizon 5 players will have access to neon decorations that are mostly centered around the legendary Highway. This is also something that is getting decked out in gorgeous and bright neon lights along with a neon drone show in the far-off distance.

Retro-Style Content Additions

For the first time in quite a while, Forza Horizon 5 will not have a DLC pack this month, which means it would be a relatively cheap four weeks for completionists.

In the new patch, some '80s cars do not have an '80s retrospective make. This is why Playground Games decided to bring sights and sounds from the decade into its game, said GTPlanet.

The neon makeover sees much of the bottom portion of the main autoroute being decorated with neon lights. These new additions include pink palm trees, green pylons, blue barriers, and what seems to be blue-outlined geographical features that feel like they were taken straight from Tron.

Other than the new content, the latest update will also include various changes and fixes, including an issue where AI Traffic cars were not present in Street Races. There were also some improvements made for an issue where some players experienced the "Forza Horizon Server Not Available" issue.

This was an error message that sometimes showed up when they tried to connect to the Auction House, Message Center, and Leaderboards or tried to browse Liveries, Tunes, and Vinyl.

Another issue that was fixed was where players were unable to follow or unfollow creators via the Creative Hub, according to XboxEra.
