Valve's Dispute Prompts Developer to Shift Focus

Valve's objection stems from the leaked but unofficial Nintendo development libraries utilized in Portal 64. Lambert, in response, has opted to transition to open-source alternatives to avoid further complications. However, Valve expressed discomfort with the idea of porting Portal 64 due to difficulties in tracking the project's progress and the substantial additional work required to alter its foundation.

The Wizard's Journey

Lambert's new project for the Nintendo 64 introduces players to an action platformer where they assume the role of a wizard. In this game, players will delve into the intricacies of magic by combining various runes to unleash a multitude of spells. From hurling fireballs to soaring through the skies, the game promises a diverse range of magical abilities achieved through strategic rune combinations.

While Lambert has not explicitly cited any inspiration for this new endeavor, the concept bears resemblance to Magicka, a popular co-op title released in 2011. In Magicka, players combine different elements to cast spells, akin to inputting stratagems in Helldivers 2.The similarities have sparked speculation among gaming enthusiasts, with many drawing parallels between Lambert's upcoming project and the innovative mechanics of Magicka.
