The upcoming prison building title is a strategy game where you are tasked with building and developing a jail from the ground up. The developer, Double Eleven, is bringing the sequel more than a decade after the original game was released in 2013.

Prison Architect 2 has been shown to feature enhanced 3D graphics that make its gameplay even more immersive for players. On top of the graphical upgrade, the sequel also adds new game mechanics and features to make fans fully engage in the process of building their own prison.
The new features that the sequel brings were designed to cater to both newcomers and veterans of the series. In it, you can build multi-floor correctional facilities with advanced tools that allow for state-of-the-art prisons, according to OneEsports.
The facilities' designs are said to directly affect the inmates' lives, influencing their behavior and interactions with other convicts. There are also unique inmates who will scheme and form relationships that will affect your decisions and actions.
As the owner of the prison, players will have to navigate these various dynamics in order to create their rehabilitative or punitive environments.
In the game's Career Mode, players are able to establish and manage correctional facilities across a new world map, which balances rehabilitation goals with financial viability.

The sequel to the highly popular game is set to launch on Sept. 3, 2024, and will be available on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X/S. Fans of the franchise who want to make sure they get the game can pre-order it now, including the upgraded version.
If you pre-order the base game, you will be rewarded with the K9 dog skins pack and if you pre-order Prison Architect 2: Warden's Edition, you will get exclusive warden skins and a desk on top of the K9 dog skins pack.
Delayed Release Date
News about the game comes as Prison Architect 2's release date was recently delayed again due to "unexpected issues occurring too often." The game was originally set to be released in March this year but was pushed back to May and recently delayed to September, said Eurogamer.
The game's publisher, Paradox Interactive, released a statement saying that it had noted issues related to memory usage that the company argued were impacting the stability of the game.
Despite the company having a version of Prison Architect 2 ready to go on all platforms, the release has been delayed to ensure that it arrives in its best possible state.
So far, there is only one trailer available for Prison Architect 2 that showcases the sequel's jump from 2D to 3D graphics. However, the developers have done various deep dives into the title along with some "how-to" videos.
These showed various aspects of the upcoming game and would help players get through the early stages of Prison Architect 2 more easily and smoother, according to ReadWrite.
