New Stardew Valley Update Fixes Issue With Bee Houses And Flowers in Garden Pots

The developer of Stardew Valley, Eric Barone, also known as ConcernedApe, released a new update for the farming sim that fixes an issue with Bee houses and flowers in players' garden pots.

The new 1.6.6 patch is said to include mostly bug fixes and translation changes but also features balance and gameplay adjustments. These include a change that is a particularly big deal for honey farmers.

Stardew Valley will now allow Bee houses to work with flowers in garden pots, which may not seem like much at first glance. However, the reason for the positive feedback is that players can increase the value of their product by placing beehives near flowers and producing Flower Honey.

Prior to the latest update, those flowers had to be planted in the ground for the upgrade to work. This meant that players who wanted to produce Flower honey had to place beehives within five tiles of a fully grown flower, which takes up valuable tillable land, according to GamesRadar.

But now, you can simply plant a flower inside a pot, whether inside or outside, and bring it anywhere you want to produce Flower Honey and put a beehive near it. One excited fan said, Bee houses working with garden pot flowers changes sooooo much! This is amazing."

Another player said that the new update was super exciting for the new farm type, noting that bees are a lovely fit for animal-focused playthroughs. The update also fixes some issues related to the Chinese translation that previously broke the game for some players.

The 1.6.6 Update also lets players toggle the Gold Clock building on or off and makes coal available to be traded for mahogany seeds at raccoons. Additionally, the 50% mastery XP buff now only applies to farming, which was the original intent.

A Variety of Fixes and Changes

The fixes include a variety of minor adjustments, such as players being able to gift a wilted bouquet to their spouse, disappearing raccoons, and inaccessible volcano dungeon areas. Some larger issues, including game crashes in specific events or versions, have also been fixed, said The Gamer.

ConcernedApe has been putting out quite a number of updates to Stardew Valley since the major 1.6 patch in March. Just last week, the 1.6.4 update added "two inappropriate names to the list to exclude from the name generator."

The 1.6.6 patch also lets players trash Pierre's Missing Stocklist or give it away at the Feast of the Winter Star. There was also an issue that caused only one omni geode to be produced from the skull cavern chest that has been addressed.

For modded players, the update fixes a variety of things, including an error showing non-flavored roe items and an error if a mod sets an NPC's "friends and family" data to null.

The developer also addresses an error loading a save containing enchanted weapons whose ID changed or data was removed, soft lock when watching a weather TV channel if tomorrow's weather is custom, and others, according to PCGamer.
