Insights from the Voice Actors
During a Q&A session with Streamily, Ogg, alongside fellow GTA 5 actors Ned Luke (Michael) and Shawn Fonteno (Franklin), revealed details about the proposed DLC. According to Ogg, the expansion would have depicted Trevor working undercover for the Federal Investigation Bureau (FIB), showcasing a different side of the character. Despite shooting some scenes for this DLC, it ultimately disappeared from development, leaving the actors with no further updates.
Impact of GTA Online's Popularity
Luke suggested that the cancellation of the Trevor DLC was likely influenced by the immense popularity of GTA Online. With the online multiplayer mode continuing to attract players even years after its launch, Rockstar may have shifted its focus to supporting and expanding GTA Online rather than pursuing single-player DLC.
Future of GTA Franchise
While GTA Online remains a dominant force in the gaming industry, the future of the franchise is evolving. Rockstar's recent announcement of Grand Theft Auto VI, set in a reimagined Vice City, has generated excitement among fans.
However, PC players were disappointed by the lack of confirmation for their platform. Additionally, the leak of the game's trailer caused frustration within Rockstar and the gaming community, despite the trailer's overwhelming popularity.
