Riot Games' 2XKO Releases Illaoi, the Kraken Priestess Gameplay Trailer

Riot Games' 2XKO, which is a fighting game inspired by League of Legends, has released the debut trailer for its latest roster addition, Illaoi, the Kraken Priestess.

A game designer for 2XKO, Caroline Montano, said that Illaoi is a champion who will be available for the first time at this year's EVO Japan. Illaoi, as the prophet of Nagakabouros, the Great Kraken, follows the demand of her faith to take control of her own destiny by always moving forward.

Illaoi is the wielder of a golden totem that she uses to test the will of her opponents and also to summon tentacles to fight for her. Montano said that in 2XKO, the Kraken Priestess is a heavy-hitting juggernaut who overwhelms others with pressure that is as unyielding as her faith.

Her fighting style is all about landing devastating strikes and dealing massive damage in as short a time as possible. She can also use her tentacles to lock her opponents down and perform various combos, according to Gematsu.

Illaoi's kit in 2XKO revolves around summoning and activating her spirit tentacles. She can use her S2 Specials to spawn a tentacle and her S1 Specials will trigger a follow-up attack with the ones that are already on the field. However, this is only as long as the enemy is within that particular tentacle's "splash zone."

But even if the enemy is not within range, Illaoi can still use certain moves to teleport the nearest tentacle to them. The Kraken Priestess is also capable of using Prayer of Motion or Prayer in Stagnation to activate spiritual tentacles from a distance.

Despite Illaoi relying on her tentacles, she is not a puppet character as they are more like rewards for playing the character well. This means that always moving and taking calculated risks can be the deciding factor in a match.

While the new character can reposition her tentacles after they have been placed on the field, the enemy can hit them to make them disappear. This makes for some relatively balanced counterplay, said Event Hubs.

League of Legends Fighting Game

The League of Legends fighting game is currently in development and will be released for the PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC. For now, 2XKO has a launch window that is set for sometime next year.

The game was previously known by its codename, Project L, and it generated hype across the community after it was initially announced. As 2XKO inches closer to a full release, fans are eagerly waiting to try it out firsthand.

The game's demo at this year's EVO Japan promises to showcase the current state of 2XKO and provide new details about the title. On top of the League of Legends fighting game, the event will also feature updates from highly anticipated titles, such as Street Fighter 6 and Tekken 8.

Events like EVO Japan are crucial milestones for 2XKO as the game travels towards a hopefully inevitable release. They would offer players more insight into the development process as well as the evolving gameplay mechanics, according to OneEsports.
