The Dungeons & Dragons tabletop adventure will be getting a new adventure module known as Vecna: Eve of Ruin that will let players start at level 10 and go up to level 20.
Wizards of the Coast, the creator of the tabletop adventure, has continued to roll out a series of elaborate campaign books for 5th edition Dungeons & Dragons over the last decade. Each of these is customized for low-to-mid-level characters.
Vecna: Eve of Ruin
At the most, the products that have been released topped out at level 13, which left fans of the franchise by themselves to make their own way toward the game's level 20 limit. The publisher is raising the stakes next month with Vecna: Eve of Ruin.
The adventure will let players begin the game at level 10 and will still have the level 20 limit. However, it is more than just a series of high-level encounters and is also a celebration of everything that has come before in the franchise. It also marks an opportunity for Dungeons & Dragons' most dedicated fans to run a well-earned victory lap, according to Polygon.
Wizards of the Coast shared a few highlights in a recent briefing regarding Vecna: Eve of Ruin. The showcase featured a surprising amount of spoilers about the new adventure. The first thing to know about the new adventure is that Vecna is a powerful undead villain found within Dungeons & Dragons lore.

Senior game designer Amanda Hamon said that the first mention of Vecna dates back to 1976, which is a reference to Eldritch Wizardry. This was a supplement for the first edition of D&D that Brian Blume wrote with the game's co-creator, Gary Gygax.
She noted that Blume previously said that the Hand and the Eye of Vecna are artifacts. There was also only one line about the undead villain which describes him as a lich of great power and evil who can only affect people who have put on his hand and his eye.
A New Tabletop Adventure Experience
In a trailer to promote the new Vecna: Eve of Ruin adventure, a voice can be heard that would be familiar to fans of Baldur's Gate 3, Neil Newbon. He previously gained a lot of recognition for his role as Astarion in one of the biggest games last year, said IGN.
He was also awarded Best Performance at Geoff Keighley's 2023 Game Awards and has now returned to the Forgotten Realms as one of its most iconic villains. The online product description of the new adventure says that the notorious lich is weaving a ritual to eliminate good once and for all.
Vecna is also said to be trying to obliterate the gods and subjugate all of the worlds that he can get his hands on. In order to stop the undead villain, heroes will have to work with three of the multiverse's most famous archmages and travel to rebuild the legendary Rod of Seven Parts.
The undead that players will face off against in the climax of Vecna: Eve of Ruin will be similar to the rules that were laid out for him in the Vecna Dossier but with a few changes. Hamon clarified that this is an ACR 26 stack block, which she called a "pretty beefy block," according to Gizmodo.
