Manor Lords is one of, if not the most, anticipated city-building game of the year, and this was seen with the millions of players putting it on their wishlists on Steam.
The upcoming medieval strategy game mixes top-down settlement expansion with sweeping tactical conflicts. The game also features the same economic micromanagement and complex social simulations that make such games in the genre popular. A bonus is that everything is rendered in realistic detail.
Manor Lords on Steam
Based on Valve's charts, Manor Lords has now become the most wishlisted game on Steam worldwide ahead of its Apr. 26 early access launch. This means that it has surpassed the likes of roguelike Hades 2, Black Myth: Wukong, Hollow Knight Silksong, and S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2.
Manor Lords' popularity is thanks to various excellent demos that have been released throughout the years. Other previews of the game were said to have shown some of the most in-depth and immersive gameplay that can be seen in strategic city builders, according to GamesRadar.
The game is developed by Slavic Magic and published by Hooded Horse which previously announced that Manor Lords reached 2 million wishlists on Steam earlier this year. This probably gave fans an idea of just how to reach the top spot of the list.
Many are wondering if Manor Lords will also be arriving on Game Pass on day one, similar to how other early access games, such as Palworld, have done. For the people who are not subscribed to Game Pass, they can still buy the game as it is expected to be on sale for roughly $30 to $40, said Windows Central.

Manor Lords is releasing at a time when city-builders have had a massive surge in popularity and is set to be a little bit more conventional than most. Players will start out with a camp and a few homeless settlers gathered on a heavily forested map.
From there, they will have to build roads and structures, including homes and sawmills, as they try to expand while also working to keep their villagers alive and happy. Players can also upgrade homes, which will result in more responsibility.
Highly Anticipated City Builder
When the settlers are content with water, food, and clothes, they will start to expect a more varied diet and upgrades in the tavern. This prompts players to build more structures, which require more villagers, who then need more houses and food.
But with these mechanics, Manor Lords does offer some interesting systems, such as how a home is not just a place to live. While most buildings are placed individually, homes can be dragged out via a box where the size determines how many buildings will appear.
This means that the wider the box, the more homes the players can build. On the other hand, the height of the box determines how much space each family will have to develop their property, according to PCGamer.
After a home has been built, players can enter the building menu and give it more utility, which allows a variety of features. These include letting villagers grow carrots in their gardens, develop orchards, or raise poultry.
