Finding the Archer Vocation Maister
Unlike other vocations in Dragon's Dogma 2, the Archer vocation is immediately accessible from the beginning of the game. If you haven't already chosen this class, simply head to Vernworth and visit the Vocation Guild to switch to the Archer vocation. From there, you're ready to embark on the journey to unlock the Archer Vocation Maister and acquire the powerful Heavenly Shot ability.
Completing the "Gift of the Bow" Quest
To begin your quest to find the Archer Vocation Maister, locate Glyndwr, the son of Warrior Maister Taliesin, outside Roderick's Smithy in Vernworth. Glyndwr will express his desire for a human-made bow and request your assistance. Gift him any bow from your inventory, and he will invite you to meet him outside the Sacred Arbor, situated to the far northwest of Vernworth.
Upon reaching the designated location, demonstrate your archery skills by hitting the indicated targets. This action completes the 'Gift of the Bow' quest, propelling you forward in your journey to unlock the Archer Vocation Maister.
Embarking on the Trial of Archery
After completing the 'Gift of the Bow' quest, return to Vernworth and await Glyndwr's return outside Roderick's Smithy. He will invite you to participate in the Trial of Archery, a pivotal step in your quest. Follow Glyndwr to the Sacred Arbor, where you'll face various challenges and encounters on your way to meet his father, Taliesin.
Rescuing Doireann and Earning Approval
Upon arriving at the Sacred Arbor, you'll discover that Taliesin's daughter, Doireann, has been captured by an ogre. Join forces with Glyndwr to rescue her from peril. Navigate through the Ancestral Chamber, defeat enemies, and liberate Doireann from the clutches of the ogre. Your swift action and bravery will earn the admiration of Taliesin and further your progress towards unlocking Heavenly Shot.
Unlocking Heavenly Shot
With Doireann safely rescued, return to Taliesin at the Sacred Arbor and await his approval. Depending on your actions and performance throughout the questline, Taliesin may immediately grant you the Hunter's Secret scroll or offer an escort quest to solidify your worthiness. Once you obtain the Hunter's Secret scroll, use it from your inventory to unlock the coveted Heavenly Shot ability for your Arisen or main Pawn.
