So, we learned a little bit about what to expect from JJ Abrams' new Star Wars last month. We're going to have a new set of lead characters and things are going to be set 30 years after the original films.
Well, now we've maybe got some confirmation of an old Star Wars icon returning to the franchise, as The National has some alleged photos from Star Wars filming in the Abu Dhabi desert.
Now, doesn't that look a heck of a lot like an AT-AT foot? I think that looks like a giant AT-AT foot.
The National has apparently never seen the Star Wars movies, because they identified it as the escape pod that R2D2 and C3PO crash-landed on Tatooine in in A New Hope. But, to cut a crappy paraphrase, "That's no pod."
After some serious deliberation, the GameNGuide staff has come to the conclusion that this is definitely an AT-AT foot, as proved by this photo. Mark it down, there are going to be AT-ATs in the deserts of Tatooine in Episode VII. Book it.
Of course, we might all be wrong and it could just be a piece of Jabba's Palace 2.0 or something. Let us know what you think this mysterious set piece will be in the comments!
