Payday 3's Second Patch for Operation Medic Bag Adds Hundreds of Fixes

Payday 3 has just released its second patch for Operation Medic Bag to add various new features and improvements to the game.

The second patch is described as a focused effort to respond to the community's expectations in improving the game. Operation Medic Bag is said to cover a range of sought-after features and improvements to gameplay, stability, matchmaking, content, and enhanced features.

The new update includes new adaptive armor, the new Adrenaline feature, which works like an extra but temporary health pool, the new mega-buff Fortitude skill line, and many fixes. The game's developer, Starbreeze Studios, said that players will be able to expect updates released "under the Operation Medic Bag umbrella" to come out with greater "cadence."

The lead producer, Andreas Hall-Penninger, said that the latest release marks their second update on the Operation Medic Bag journey, adding that many more will come in the future. He added that their focus right now is on making continuous improvements at a steady pace while trying to slowly address the game's most pressing issues, according to Eurogamer.

Starbreeze Studios added that the new update tries to fix beleaguered FPS and also includes 300 tweaks to improve other facets of the game. Tobias Sjogren was removed from his role as CEO of the developer earlier this month. The decision was made after the company's board concluded that the studio "needs a different leadership" in order to execute its current business strategy.

The new Fortitude skill line has plenty of benefits for players, including an increase to base maximum health, an increase of one to the maximum number of "downs," and the bleedout time increased by 50%.

Additionally, if players have a deployable bag in their loadout, it will have two additional charges, which are added before Deep Pockets. It also gives them a health siphon, which heals them for 40% of the amount they heal another crewmate. If this brings them to full health, the excess amount is added as Adrenaline.

Payday 3's Newest Changes

Unyielding adds 15 to players' maximum health for each "down" that they currently have in the game. Whenever they have Adrenaline, Supraphysiological allows them to gain an additional 10% Adrenaline for each "down" that they have, said BleedingCool.

On top of these, the new update also adds support for Nvidia's image scaling upscaler, DLAA, and DLSS Super Resolution. It also makes DirectX12 the default graphics API but still allows players to switch back to DirectX11 if they need to.

Another feature that has been implemented is the highly-anticipated "unready" button that lets players opt themselves out of a multiplayer lobby. There are also menus for changing controller dead zone settings and game settings such as lobby type and difficulty that will now be carried across games.

Starbreeze Studios said last month that sales of Payday 3 were "significantly lower" than they had been hoping for. It noted that they were working closely with the game's publisher, Plaion, to identify the changes that need to be implemented to give players a better experience, according to Rock Paper Shotgun.
