South Park: Snow Day! Brings a Winter Wonderland for Players To Enjoy

South Park: Snow Day! just released and brings a winter wonderland for players to enjoy set in the world of the popular TV show.

The story starts when Eric Cartman sees snow falling hard as he is tucked up in bed and starts hoping for the blizzard to become worse so that schools would close the next day. After falling asleep, he wakes up to a town in panic as there have been several deaths amid a weather that is so unprecedented that many see it as the end of times.

Instead of joining the panic or the buying of toilet paper, he is delighted to see just how bad the storm has become. The neighborhood has been covered in white and kids have painted a fantasy war that includes elves and humans battling each other. The games have rules that could change in an instant with the use of what the game calls a "bullsh*t" card.

South Park has always been amazing at capturing the bits of childhood that people forget as they age and Snow Day! Is no different. The game shows that given a day's freedom and some swords made out of cardboard, they can build an entirely different universe and fight about its inner workings, according to The Guardian.

The title gives players a co-op action game that features roguelike elements that are completely removed from the franchise's first two titles. These were the 2D, turn-based role-playing games The Stick of Truth in 2014 and The Fracture But Whole in 2017.

South Park: Snow Day! lets players battle other small children wearing cosplay by deploying various melee and ranged attacks. They will have to amass toilet paper, which is considered the new gold in the game since the start of panic-buying, and modifier cards.

These cards allow players to deal extra damage to bleeding enemies, extend their farting range, and other stuff. The further you get in the game, the more options you will have to deck out your character's play style, and the more interesting the fights get.

Somewhat Repetitive Gameplay

Despite the success of the first two titles in the series, South Park: South Day! falls flat with some players who found the story to be monotonous. Some who played the new title felt as if the combat was repetitive and the humor of the popular series was lost in the process of bringing the new game, said IGN.

The majority of a player's time will be spent hacking and slashing through a series of playable scenarios. The game's missions are all set in the snow-covered South Park and pits players against waves of enemies in order to complete objectives.

The levels themselves do not do much to set themselves apart from one another, which results in a rather generic experience. Unfortunately, this is something that is exacerbated by South Park: Snow Day's poor combat system, which is unresponsive, clunky, and not engaging.

The game's combat becomes even more frustrating due to various performance issues that were encountered in the game. The Nintendo Switch, in particular, suffered significant frame rate drops, blurry textures, and other glitches, according to Nintendo Life.
