Gran Turismo 7 is getting a new update and with it, a potential release for a fan-favorite car, the Toyota GT-One, that was first seen in Gran Turismo 2.
The game's creator, Kazunori Yamauchi, confirmed the new update on social media will be coming this week and will include three cars. He posted on Saturday in his now-traditional "silhouettes" on X, formerly known as Twitter, the news about the new update.
Gran Turismo 7's Latest Update
The post is different from the ones that have come before as they have been static images of cars that were heavily disguised in shadow but the latest teaser is in video format. While there is slightly less detail in this month's tweet, fans are treated to the sounds of the cars' engines.
Update is coming next week.

The one that is most likely to be the talk of the town is the one at the bottom right, which matches the look of the Toyota GT-One, or the TS020. This is the automobile company's attempt to secure a victory at the 24 Hours of Le Mans in the weird, lawless era of the late 1990s, according to GTPlanet.

Toyota developed the GT-One to take advantage of certain areas of the homologation legislation and produced only two of the cars, neither of which were ever sold to the public. This was unlike its rivals Mercedes-Benz and Porsche and made it more like a pure racing machine that was not for the general populace.
What is unfortunate is that all three of the cars in both the 1998 and 1999 races suffered from accidents. The most memorable of which was the heartbreaking chase in the final hour of the 1999 event where the #3 car suffered a tire failure within sight of becoming the overall winner.
Adding New Cars
It is still unclear from Kazunori's tweet which of the three versions of the GT-one, the road car, the 1998 GT1, or the 1999 LMGTP, will be coming to Gran Turismo 7. There are two other modern performance cars that will accompany Toyota's supercar, both of which are from the Volkswagen Group; the Audi R8 and the Lamborghini Urus.
The latest update comes after the game also received three other cars during the 1.43 patch that was made available in late February. The lineup included the Audi TTS Coupe '09, a high-performance model that was aggressively evolved from the TT, the Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution IX MR GSR '06, and the Renault R4 GTL '85, said the PlayStation Blog.
The Lancer Evo IX GSR is the final Evo to be powered with the 4G63 engine and the IX is not-so-arguably the best of the lot, even among the relatively low-spec GSR models. Gran Turismo 7 will give this car 277bhp that players can easily crank up to more potent IX specs.
The Renault, a French classic, was designed to rival the Citroen 2CV and is not among the fattest cars in the game. However, it could become a contender to be a favorite in spec-series racing inside custom lobbies, according to CarThrottle.
