Unrelenting Battle Against Cheaters
Cheating remains a prevalent issue in games like PUBG, where long-form matches can be abruptly ruined by players exploiting third-party tools like aimbots and wallhacks. Despite continuous upgrades to the anti-cheat system, PUBG Studios faced an escalating number of violators.
The developer, however, showcased its commitment to fair play by implementing new detection methods, particularly harnessing the power of machine learning.
Innovative Solutions and Ongoing Challenges
PUBG Studios attributed the improved ban rate to innovative approaches, including machine learning tools that excel at identifying common cheats like aimbots and ESPs. The developers also acknowledged the need to address challenges, such as countering hardware bans and detecting keyboard-and-mouse users on consoles. Despite the substantial progress, PUBG Studios admitted there is still much work to be done to fully eradicate cheating from the game.
