A new patch for Sea of Thieves has sailed and is now available for download on all supported platforms. Update 2.10.1 brought many improvements, including the rewards that you can get by completing in-game activities.
Athena's Fortune Voyages
If you have played Sea of Thieves for a while now, you know that some of Athena's Fortune voyages take a bit longer to complete compared to other trading companies in the game. Developer Rare Studios thinks so too, which is why it has applied some improvements to make things a lot easier for you.
After updating the game's client to the latest version, you now only have to complete three quests in the first chapter of the Voyage of Legends, such as one "X Marks the Spot" Map, one Riddle Map, and one Bounty Map. This is a much-needed change because you had to finish eight different quests prior to Update 2.10.1.
The Ashen Voyage of Legends received some improvements as well. The quests are similar to the normal version except that the quests take place exclusively in The Devil's Roar. Once you have successfully completed the two chapters, you will be rewarded with an Ashen Chest of Legends for your efforts.

Performance Improvements
Update 2.10.1 has also implemented some performance improvements. For one, Sea of Thieves now supports both DirectX 11 and DirectX 12. If you are running a PC that is equipped with relatively modern hardware, it is recommended that you select DirectX 12 for better performance.
In addition, the game now operates on the latest Xbox Game Development Kit (GDK). To feel the difference, the company encourages you to install the latest drivers for your graphics card.

Improved Raid Voyage Rewards

While diving to a Raid Voyage will continue to reward crews with a concentrated number of high-value items, making the spoils easier to carry than numerous lower-value items, the total quantity and value of items awarded and their visual impact have now been slightly increased following player feedback.

Crews completing Raid Voyages for the Athena's Fortune Trading Company will now find that only Athena's Fortune treasure is awarded.

Skull of Siren Song Guild Reputation

Guild Reputation will now be earned by taking part in the Skull of Siren Song Voyage when this is active on the server.

Crews can earn a modest amount of Guild Reputation when selling an empty Chest of Siren Song, and a significant boost to Guild Reputation when handing in the Skull of Siren Song to Briggsy. The existing gold and Renown earned from these rewards remains unchanged.

Emissary Voyage Improvements

Players starting an Athena's Fortune Emissary Voyage in The Devil's Roar will now be further rewarded with an Ashen Chest of Legends upon completion.

The Ashen Winds Skull no longer loses value by being used. Fire away, pirates!
