Welcome to another #SteamSpotlight feature, ladies and gentlemen. With all the wars that are happening in the different parts of the world today, the game we're shining the spotlight on is a reminder of the true cost of such wars.
In any war, civilians are often (if not always) the unwilling casualties in a battle they never wanted to be a part of. Today's feature is a game that tells the story of civilians caught in a war and the struggle to live and survive.
Without further ado, here's what you have to know about This War of Mine.
#SteamSpotlight Feature: This War of Mine
Released on November 15, 2014, This War of Mine is developed and published by 11 Bit Studios. It is a singleplayer survival game focuses on a group of civilians trying to survive in a besieged city. There is danger everywhere and all the time, and your task is to manage the group of survivors and protect your hideout.
You will also have to take one of your civilians to scavenge for resources. This is a lot easier said than done, and you should do whatever you can to keep him or her alive.
Choices matter heavily in this game and could spell the difference between death and survival. Will you do your best to protect all of them? Will you sacrifice some of them for the good of all?
The choice is up to you.

Steam Reviews for This War of Mine

"Not a first person shooter, not a survival tycoon, but an experience," timothos sas in a Steam review. "The distinction is essential to the purpose of the game since without it, it is merely another FPS/survival game."
"If the game induces empathy and melancholy then congratulations, you played this correctly," Timothos adds.
"I can't explain how well the developers have encapsulated the hoplessness and the mundane brutality of the Balkan civil war, and it leads me to think that at least one key person involved in the development of this game had to have lived through it, too," unicornsteak says in a separate Steam review.
