After so many delays, it seems that Skull and Bones is ready to set sail this month. In fact, Ubisoft is encouraging players to join the open beta, which is happening soon. Read further to learn more.
Sail the Seas
Ubisoft's upcoming pirate action-adventure game is going to have an open beta very soon. According to the company, players can progress through the game until Infamy Brigand or (Tier 6 Rank 1).
So, what is different this time around? Unlike the closed betas, the open beta will have players cross over the open seas to explore a new region called the East Indies, where they will be able to reach Telok Penjarah - the Pirate Den of this area.
Before they can reach the East Indies, however, players are tasked to overcome the many challenges that await them. Less experienced Captains may have to gain experience in the "safer seas," such as the Red Isle and the Coast of Africa.
The best way to gain progression during the open beta is by completing the main campaign contracts. They are marked by golden skull markers, making them easier to distinguish. Of course, there are side contracts, repeatable contracts, and bounty contracts that provide new challenges and experiences as well.
The good news is that the time players spend on the open beta will not be in vain. That is because they can keep their progress and continue onward when the game launches on February 16!
In addition, the game will have cross-progression and cross-play enabled. This means that players can start on one platform and continue playing on another platform with all of their progression intact. Skull and Bones is available on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X/S.
