Satisfactory, the base-building game developed by Coffee Stain Studios, is set to leave Early Access this year. To ensure that the game will have a smooth launch, players are encouraged to join the closed beta test.

Finally Launching

The game has been in development for over eight years at this point, so it is nice to see that Satisfactory is going to receive the full version 1.0 treatment this year.

According to Snutt Treptow, Community Manager for Satisfactory, the game was in the alpha stage for so many years, meaning, the company still needed to introduce new features to create something special.

The good news is that Satisfactory has now entered the beta stage of development. Treptow said that because the game finally has all of the features for it to be considered finished, the next logical step is to ramp up testing. The aim of the beta is to ensure that the game is polished and optimized enough so that is befitting of a launch title.

To help the company address any issues, players are encouraged to join the closed beta, which is happening right now. There is no word about when the testing period will conclude, but those who are interested can head to the game's official website to sign up.

What Happens Next?

Now that the development of Satisfactory is ramping up for the game's eventual release this year, what happens to the Early Access title? Treptow said that there will be little to no updates to the current version of Satisfactory on Steam. But, that is okay considering what players can expect when the game is fully launched.

Treptow said that Satisfactory is going to have even more new content that players will certainly love. He added that the company is set to fix the game's long-standing issues, including rendering problems, manually-driven vehicles, and network quality issues, among many others. More importantly, Satisfactory will have a full-fledged story mode once version 1.0 is released.

The game still does not have a specific release date yet. However, Treptow assures the community that it will launch sometime this year.

So, are you going to sign up for the closed beta test?
