Released on April 26, 2023, Cassette Beasts is developed by Bytten Studio and published by Raw Fury. As previously mentioned, it is a turn-based, open-world RPG set in the fictional island of New Wirral. This island is inhabited by creatures as well as people who use cassette tapes to record monsters in order to gain their abilities.
In order to deal with the increasing number of monster attacks on the island, you will have to record a monster to a cassette tape, and then play it back so that you can take on its form for battle.
To create more powerful creatures, you will also have to fuse them together to create newer ones with special abilities.

Exploring the Open World
Aside from being a turn-based battle game, Cassette Beasts features an open world that you can explore to your heart's content. You get to fly, swim, and dash as you explore the island, locating dungeons along the way.
You can likewise make friends with the other characters present in the game. You will get to select a partner, who you will complete personal goals with.

Steam Reviews for Cassette Beasts
Cassette Beasts has more than 6,000 user reviews on Steam as of press time. These reviews are generally described as "Overwhelmingly Positive" by Steam.
"This game is excellent," user Yöshi says in a Steam review. "What I like most about it is that it doesn't ever stretch itself beyond its intended scope."
"There's no BS, no filler in the main story, you can go do pretty much whatever you want from the get go and get what you're looking for from the game," Yöshi adds.
"Cassette Beasts is a nostalgic blend of the 80s and 90s that takes the creature capture base of Pokemon and adds its own twist of flavors," user Skilletisue says in a separate review. "For example, the rock-paper-scissors formula of combat is made more complex with adding special reactions between elements, the leveling system is streamlined by basing creature power on the main character's own level, and evolving your creatures to new more powerful forms can have engaging "choose your own adventure" like moments."
